Finally, some GOOD news about African growth

Finally! After all the doom and gloom about how, if you don't forgive their debts, Africa has no hope (thanks, Bono), there is some positive news out of Africa... I'm quite encouraged by this, and hope that this is indeed a "trend" and that it continues.

World Bank Says Sub-Sahara Africa Showing Good Economic Growth of 4.1 Percent Per Year

WASHINGTON (AP) -- Long lagging behind other regions of the world, sub-Sahara Africa is showing economic growth that could lift thousands of people out of poverty, the World Bank reported Saturday.


Growth in the 48-country region hit 4.8 percent in 2004, exceeding the global growth rate of 4.1 percent that year, the last year covered in the institution's latest "World Development Indicators" report.
